Ubuntu LiveCD can find SSD and install Ubuntu on it (and I can boot it).
BIOS is up to date (version 209 from and here the latest version is 209 too ).
More over, I've installed Ubuntu on this SSD and I can boot from that SSD and use Ubuntu. The most interesting point is Ubuntu live CD can find SSD. I've tried to update Windows from 8.1 to 10. I've tried to use Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver as it mentioned in comments here - Windows 10 install don't recognize SSD. Windows installer also cannot find this SSD. I even can set it as primary boot device. And in the BIOS settings I can see the SSD. I tried to find it with volume management in the control panel. So now I have my old hdd in the old place and new ssd in the dvd-drive place. I've replaced with it a dvd-drive in my laptop (Asus L551LN). With these settings, I'm able to boot the Win7 dvd, but then again when I choose the drive/partition it tells me Windows cannot be installed there as stated previously.Īnyone have any suggestions please? I'm blown, because I had it installed and working, until I screwed up and installed new Intel chipset drivers.I have a problem with SSD (Intel 535 series). Then there is a submenu labelled AHCI Configurations: I know its just some BIOS setting I'm missing but I can't figure out which cause I don't know what all that shit actually does. So I go in and try changing the SATA back to IDE from AHCI, and again am getting boot failures. Got to location for install selection and got a message that windows could not install to that drive and to check on BIOS settings. Was able to boot to the Win7 CD to try and reinstall. Rebooted, and couldn't boot to the SSD, nor to my SATA DVD drive. Proceeded to screw up by installing intel chipset drivers.
